The weld nut has a convex surface with precision dimples which are welded to a metal surface. It provides position accuracy, uniform size, uniform strength and consistency. Generally the weld nut is applied using a spot welding machine. Once the nut is welded to the surface, it provides a permanent and non-removable connection. Weld nuts are avaialbe in a wide range of thread sizes, manufactured in steel and stainless steel for use with compatiable materials.
